If half of the drink is ice and you order it without ice then it’s to be expected that the cup would only be half full.

With soda, they made the drink with the ice melting in mind.
I don’t think this is true. The soda machine is probably programmed to deliver just enough soda so that it doesn’t overflow the cup. Now, if you order it without ice it’ll deliver the exact same amount of soda but the cup wont be as full due to lack of ice.
What do you mean? They obviously want to hear a summary of what you’ve been up to since you last met.
That’s almost one cent per video. Outrageous!
I did X and this happened!
Also, if the title of a news article is in the form of a question I just mutter to myself “no” and keep scrolling without even reading it.
Agreed. Not much to relate with all the discussion about office work.
Mods on some communities are completely out of their minds. I got banned from !ukraine@sopuli.xyz simply for voicing my skepticism about how feasible it is to win back all the occupied territories and wether it would even be worth all the deaths it would require. And not only that but they delete the comment from modlog too.
My aunt talked her mom out of kitchen remodel because it’s going to cost so much (that she’ll get smaller ineritance then) while my grandmom, who already spends most of her time alone at home then can’t even spend her savings to make her surroundings a bit nicer.
I don’t see that. To me it reads as guilt tripping the parents for wanting to spend the money they themselves earned.
My criticism isn’t aimed at parents who want to leave an inheritance to their kids. It’s directed at those kids who expect it from their parents, as if they’re somehow entitled to it.
Inheritance from who? Your poor parents?
What on earth are you talking about? Generational wealth is not a binary thing. There are people rich enough to pass their fortune to their kids and then there are ones who can’t. That’s how it has always been and that’s how it’s always going to be.
What’s infuriating about this? Why the heck should I inherit something I haven’t worked for? I’ve always told my parents and grandparents that dying with an empty bank balance is the ideal way to go. Hell, preferably be in debt.
Maybe if we just go around shooting everyone whose better off that ourselves then one day we’ll all be equally poor and miserable.
Several pounds of berries in an hour including travel time and processing of said berries? I highly doubt that.
Maybe you should set more realistic goals than trying to become a billionaire.
If you’re not being paid adequately you’re free to go work for someone else. I don’t get why people act as if they’re slave labor. If you don’t like working for someone else then start your own company.
On virtually any job you’ll earn enough in an hour to buy more mushrooms and berries than you can pick in that same time.
As if you don’t get anything in return for the effort you put in and are just doing charity to benefit someone else.
If I go to a juice bar and order a drink made with one orange, one banana, one kiwi, and two scoops of ice, blended to fill a cup, I fully understand that it’s not the ice I’m paying for. If I ask for the same drink without ice, I don’t expect them to throw in another orange and half a banana to fill the cup.
I don’t disagree that with something like soda or coffee, it costs them nothing to replace the ice with more drink. But I also don’t feel entitled to guilt them if they don’t. They’re serving the same amount of drink to everyone - I just prefer mine without ice.
