For sure. Context absolutely matters, ans the context here doesn’t establish a pattern from my understanding. So in this case it’s unlikely to be a dog whistle.
But people should still be aware of what the 88/1448 dog whistle looks like.
Yeah fuck that, it’s tuta time.
88 is typically used either on its own, or in full as 1488 by neo nazis and fascists. It’s a dog whistle.

On its own, it can be used accidentally, such as if you have 88 in your username because you were born in '88, but if paired with other behavioral patterns it can become damning.
A CEO/founder of a communications company praising a fascist is gonna be a major concern of a privacy focused community like this.
Proton should be doing everything they can to keep things private, since that’s they’re whole marketing strategy. Yet here they are licking the boot. That makes them untrustworthy of our data.
I’m in the same boat. What a shit show.
A good way to keep this easy for yourself is to keep the files you actually care about like pictures, game saves, documents, etc all on a separate partition. It makes it very easy to make a backup for distro hopping.
You can nuke your OS as many times as you like, and everything will be exactly in the same place.
That, and due to the relatively small nature of the fediverse, simply being in the new tab makes things likely to be seen for quite a bit, enough for ~8 users to come in and explain how backwards they’re being.
That’s just mean lol
Yar har fiddle dee dee
I think you got into KSP ever so slightly before I did, but I remember buying it directly from them before the whole rigamarole of transferring it to steam.
Everything else I’m 99% on the same page on.
Though, I’ll very occasionally use mechjeb to handle accent to orbit from kerbin. Usually only if it is a big unstable rocket that needs lots of very fine adjustments. Something about seeing such a rocket fly stable is very satisfying.
Landing, transfers, docking, and accent from other moons/planets I always do myself though.
I recently played around with one of the warp bubble mods, it was a shit load of fun until the kraken ate my ship.
Every so often I have an urge to come back and play KSP for like a month straight. And it’s a blast every time.
Sometimes a nice single player sandbox is all you need.
Pretty neat, but probably not something I’d buy
Been using this for a while now. For my needs, it’s the best distro out there.
I gave freecad two separate tries and just couldn’t get it to cooperate. Maybe I’ll give it another go in a year or two/the next major update.
This has almost been my experience. My windows partition sees almost no use. But not zero. I still currently use it for fusion360 and a few games.
Eventually I’ll be at a point where I can feel confident permanently deleting the windows partition.
Yeah, that’s part of why I’m reinstalling as well. I had everything all on one SSD, and I needed more space for my Linux partition, but the windows partition is blocking any resizing.
I made the switch to a dual boot just before 2024. And the share of games I play exclusively on Linux is growing.
Gonna reinstall my windows 10 side with an enterprise LTSC. Hopefully by the time the security updates and compatibility runs out, proton will be able to tackle the remainder of games I want on linux, and can purely run linux.
I lose something. I lose a bit of my soul every time a job tries to make us take it or some other horoscope bullshit equivalent.
Yes and no. The main version is forked from ubuntu, but there is also LMDE which is debian based.
