No worries bud, the mechanics for 1 and 2 has always been shit. People sucked it up and played anyway because the writing was so damn good. If you can’t get into the game because the mechanics or controls are bad thats the games fault not yours.
I have been trying to replay both for years and everytime I give up after a few hours because the experience is just painful.
From GTA to GTA san andreas are all a pain now because the control scheme is so outdated, The pcs ports are even worse because they have the shittiest jankiest controls imaginable but they had that from the start. GTA 4 is borderline unplayable because of the trash camera controls but that was true when it came out as well.
The original Metro 2033 is a bit of a slog to get through as well if you can even get it to run.

My daughter wanted to wear my headset when I was playing battlefield once. It was so funny listening to those losers rage because they Were getting stomped by a 5 yr old girl. Now days she still puts it on from time to time and it’s still hilarious.

I already pay for plex pass but I’m going to start looking into jelly fin out of principle. I will not support the enshitification of a service I use and this is how it starts. Soon they will have tiered subscriptions and then the cheap one will be taken away and the cheapest paid one will be stuffed with ads then all tiers will be stuffed with ads then they will jack up prices again or charge more for sharing with family or block it all together to force your family to get their own sub and the circle of enshitification will be complete.

I run Linux daily, Linux isn’t ready, its really not much of a debate. If the average person can’t operate it efficiently then the average person will just stick to mac or windows.
I’ll admit it is closer than it has ever been thanks to compatibility layers like proton but the average user still can’t figure it out so it still has a way to go.
