Dunno, seems like a solid recommendation, those are the two weekly HBO shows I watch.

No, just alternative urls.
I might be a problem if you are logged out of your plex account while offline. But I didn’t have to login for years on either of my clients. You can also give special access to local IP addresses on LAN to ignore authentication. But yeah, that’s a bit hidden in the settings.
You need an internet connection to connect to a offline LAN Plex server
Not true.
" When running your own Plex Media Server as a subscriber, other users to whom you have granted access can also stream from the server (whether local or remote), without ANY additional charge"
So as a plex pass holder it shouldn’t affect any of my (current?) users? Am I reading this right?
edit: Seems I’m good.
I have a NAS with 2.2GHz quad-core, 8GB RAM running plex.
So far my record was 7 simultaneous remote streams (I think 2 were transcodes, the rest direct play), which it handled fine. And going by CPU usage, it should be able to handle 5 transcoding sessions (1080p max) at once.
Though, I usually run into bandwidth limits before I run into CPU limits (hopefully I’ll get fibre this year).
StarCraft: Brood War
Found it on 1337.
Only around 30 seeders but it’s downloading.
Yeah, I have 31 remote users (though less then 10 are actually active). If you’re running a server setup to the point of supporting that, the plex lifetime pass is just a piss in the wind.
But the lemmy FOSS crowd is strong, we’re severely outnumbered here :D
OP probably doesn’t have a plex pass.
Unless therer was some major update in the last 6 months I’ve missed, I’d say no … not even close.
it was showing the name on the server as the long name with details instead of just the movie name.
Yea, sounds it couldn’t match the movie. But in my expirence that rarley happens and I only rename files when a matching issue occures.
I’ve tried seeding the renamed files through the torrent but it seems since the movie names didn’t match it would start trying to download again
Another option would be to create a hardlink from the torrent folder to your library folder. That way you can have two completely independent filenames.
Why are you renaming it in the first place? You’re not even adding any new info (like the release date to the title) so why bother?
Its not really that tedious but its more so If im wanting to seed files again later, I would need the file names to match exactly.
Not sure about your torrent client but renaming a file in my client (Transmission) doesn’t prevent it from being seeded.
Yeah, I’ve never heard of “Clear Play” … but it’s sooooo American.
Personally I’m more on the paranoid side, so I went with raid 6 and a hot spare. So in case of failure I can rebuild one disk immediately and not having to buy one first. But so far I’ve never had a disk failure.
In addition I was thinking of having the 8TB HDD as a standalone to backup the documents and maybe the photos and the docker setups.
That is a very good idea. I also can’t quite afford to backup my main storage of movies/shows, but at least all the important personal documents (and my music) is properly backed up.
Ah yes. I too have 20% obesity.
that’s only because we had an organized server that had a list of who was next in line to get HWL
Honestly, I loved that kind of meta gaming, all the backdoor deals, even across factions. The drama when some group wouldn’t honour the list or agreements (Been on both sides of it).
I made rank 13, luckily I already had a better weapon from raiding, so I could skip the last one. Good times.
2 of those years were after I finished school and was just living rent free at home and gaming full time. During that time it was easly more then 12h a day. Though, a lot of that was just being logged in and idle while chatting on teamspeak or doing administrative work for the guild (we ran our own webserver out of a friends house for our forum/dkp system, etc). That’s how I learned programming.
There was also some account sharing, which was literally required to get to the top of the vanialla PvP ranking. Games were built different back then.
Where can I get this free healtcare that pays your rent?
