Tyler McVicker and Gabe Follower are saying that HL3 is in heavy development currently. Apparently they even have hired experienced devs from Rockstar, Id Software, Epic Games, Respawn, Sucker Punch and others to work on the game.

What are the concerns ?

Speedrunning isn’t THAT popular. If you want to chase trends there are much easier ways other than spending thousands of hours on a single game to have low chances of make a record.

Looks cool, but kickstarter. Also the article says it doesn’t have a trackpad but what’s that empty area on the right of the space key ? I really like the placement of that thing.

To me this removes the threat of exploring completely and makes it not fun.
There is literally no danger to doing anything and it’s boring.

I agree that we are fine even without it. But that does not mean it’s better than not having that history.

An easy example that comes to mind are all arguments wherr someone remembers one thing while someone else remembers another thing.
