I really like my Playdate, and I say this as someone who was very critical of it before it came out ("No color or backlight? Only A and B buttons? Why would anyone pay $200 for that?) and received it as a gift from my very intuitive husband. I am still very critical of the fact that there is no backlight, but the damn thing is so cute and charming. I like playing games on it.
I’m very disappointed that the dock just got shelved and won’t be released. Now I have to make my own or buy an Etsy one. :(
Another effect these oversized vehicles have is that they are generally safer for the occupants in the event of a crash, which means the driver doesn’t have to worry about their safety or self-preservation as much, which means they crash into things more often from not paying close attention to their surroundings.
Unfortunately the rest of us who may get hit by one of these oversized vehichles don’t have the luxury of being safer and not dying.
I really hope they actually fixed the dock display issues and blank screen problems when waking from sleep or switching displays.
I’ll dig my dock out of the closet, update it, and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
The 4th Circuit court is out of their minds on this ruling.
Yeah, the person who thought this up should be forced to do it for 24 hours straight, with only 10 seconds for each guess, and for every one he gets wrong, five minutes gets added to his time.
Yep, this handheld will be all about subscriptions, ads, and data harvesting.
The hardware will be good and the software will still be buggy like the xboxes because it’s windows and microsoft doesn’t care about making windows a good experience for users. I hope I’m wrong.
