Came here to say the same thing. 2 of my favorite genres rolled into one epic game.
Before Elden Ring my favorite was RDR2. Didn’t think it was going to get bumped down anytime soon.

Playing that now, just beat fake monk, next is the gorilla. Once the combat clicked for me everything made sense.
Idk if you’re being sarcastic but Hollow Knight is far from the best game of all time. Not saying it’s not good, but to crown it ahead of soooo many better games is pretty ridiculous.
I’m a huge fan of Souls-like games but I have no problem with a difficulty slider IF the hardest setting rewards you with exclusive achievements or access to bonus areas in the game. It would be funny if the easiest setting replaces bosses with cute animals or something. Like kill this baby deer or play on hard mode.
Also, IMO if a game is not challenging it becomes incredibly boring after a few hours. I tried playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and put it on the hardest setting and it was like mild sauce from Taco Bell. Only bonus was a tiny more XP.
I was mainly talking about paywalled sites like news articles.
As others have mentioned, if it was all free, it would be riddled with ads. You really only have two options, ublock and customize your blocked elements, or pay.
I’ve been playing Nioh 2 and got about 80% done when I couldn’t do the repetitive missions anymore. I know it’s supposed to be like Diablo where you’re supposed to do the same missions over again in harder modes to farm, but I don’t really enjoy that kind of thing. Hopefully this one’s not like that.
This makes me want to go back for a 3rd playthrough. Especially since I have a steam deck now and have been playing through older games, like Sekiro right now.
How do I send money to you?
Doing it in NG+ isn’t that difficult at all since you already have your stats set and multiple weapons maxed out.
You can complete 90% of everything in one playthrough. Then complete the other parts in NG+ so you’re not completely starting over. I believe you only need 2 great runes to face the end boss.
Elden Ring is an RPG, not sure what you’re saying.
This might be a unpopular view but I think games like Elden Ring or Lies of P are a better RPGs. More action packed, less busy/boring missions. I beat BG3 and had fun for the first half of the game, the last half was a bit of a drag. I tried KCD 1 and couldn’t get into it, going from one end of the map to another doing mindless tasks. It was more of a middle-age simulator. I put ~250 hours into Elden Ring + DLC and I wanted more by the end of it.
Either way, I have some hope for the future of games.
Or just use use your PC like a normal person.
Aren’t space heaters pretty cheap? Probably didn’t need to add wear and tear to your GPU.
