Ok this is more disappointing than infuriating, but I’ve been voting for 26 years and just once I want the state or county to give me a frickin’ sticker.
I need another sticker for my coffee jar:
They started including a sticker in CO ballots maybe 4 years ago… stuck directly to the paper.
My county had a custom sticker competition, the whole town was excited to get to wear a special sticker.
Hey, fellow Lane county member. If you go to the elections office they have stickers there
Much appreciated
That’s like asking for an elephant stamp for wiping your butt after going to the toilet.
Voting isn’t an accomplishment, it’s your duty and the reward is the society you live in.
It acts like a reminder to everyone else that voting is open and you should go do it
Disagree, as a society we should embrace rewarding good behavior with stickers. You don’t have to wear it or take it if you don’t want it.
What’s wrong with a little gamification to encourage civic responsibility?
So that’s why I’ve done it my entire adult life. I always wondered.
You’re just jealous you didn’t get the awesome stickers Michigan did this year.
I’m not eligible to vote in your country. In mine, voting is mandatory and there are no stickers, just democracy sausages to aid in the funding for local polling places like schools and community halls.
Okay, I think what I’ve learned today is that I now need both a sticker of a werewolf tearing its shirt off and screaming “I VOTED!” and a democracy sausage.
The world is such a delightful place sometimes.
Probably, yes? Printed paper is quite cheap, compared to sticker material. Negligible as the per-square-meter cost of both is, and how many more stickers you get out of one.
