France is facing a shortage of antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs, which psychiatrists warn is putting pressure on the country’s already strained health system, as patients unable to fill their prescriptions resort to emergency care.

    Many drugs are produced outside of France, and psychiatrists say the French public health system keeps the prices too low to interest manufacturers, who sell elsewhere for more profit.

    Well there’s your problem, you just gotta fuck people over for the sake of capitalism!

    Well that’s alarming.

    I’ve been trying to build up a stockpile of my meds for exactly this reason. It’s really not that easy though - I probably only have a months surplus.

    I’m surprised it’s effecting the meds that aren’t covered by patents.

    I guess if France wants them that cheap they need to manufacture them in country.
